DEALISHES APP DESIGN
Role: UI/UX Design Client: Dealishes
At a time when the standard UI buttons defined by iOS were rounded and shiny; I tried to push ahead to a more minimal design. But still kept some textures and OS design elements to increase instant understanding and familiarity.
As a food lover, Dealishes was a great project to work on with the founders and developers. While they had a working mvp product when I joined, there was a lot of design work to be done on the brand and product. Re-working user flows, designing new features, creating a dynamic feel for the app, and defining product fonts and colors was all part of daily tasks that fell to me to decide upon (with input from coworkers).
One personal amusement while designing Dealishes was defining the brand red color as #F00D20. Many emergency services use dispatch short-hand numbers, 20 being used for location. As in "what's your 20." Thereby making the color number say Food Location.
